My Favorite Hotel...

The Papago Hotel in Scottsdale is by far one of the best hotel's I've stayed at in the greater Phoenix area. It's been recently updated/renovated but with a stylish mid-century modern look. It's cozy and welcoming, with a large central pool and a bar/lounge inside with friendly staff. But the BEST FEATURE is that all of their toilets are equipped with a BIDET! This is the only hotel in the USA that I've stayed at with such a luxury...and this hotel isn't even very expensive. It's a Wyndham property, and Wyndham rewards rate is only $73/night. You can't find a better property for that price. Click the pool photo above to check out their website!

Some great attractions to check out...

The Desert Botanical Gardens

With a wide variety of desert plants, that are beautifully landscaped, this place is always a treat to check out; especially at night when the park is illuminated with light displays- some of which are synchronized with music!

Museum of Illusions

The Museum of Illusions in Scottsdale is full of perspective-changing rooms, optical illusions, and other "trippy" displays and exhibits that are sure to blow your mind!

Phoenix Bat Cave!

Typically in the summer (June-August), you can see Mexican free-tailed bats fly out of the cave just before sunset as they come out to feed at night! Thousands of them! It's really a sight to behold!

Experience Native American Culture

Just East of Scottsdale is the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Check out the Huhugam Ki Museum, where you can learn all about regional tribes and their history and culture! Also, make sure to stop at "The Stand", a Native American Food stand, where you can try some delicious stew and fry bread!
